Pro-Active Coalition Working to Restore Community
Star Rating - 6/26/2011
There is something amazing going on in Beaver Creek's Rimrock and Lake Montezuma communities. There is a group of people that have rolled up their sleeves making a difficult situation better. In the midst of the housing downturn, the historic golf course and restaurant in Lake Montezuma went out of business, really devastating the community. A group known as the Ranch House Coalition put together a deal and plans the property to be run similarly to a municipal course and reopen the restaurant.

Many hands have gotten dirty, mowing a good deal of the 100 plus acres, felling trees that died and preserving the waterways lacing throughout the community. More people have shown support as members and investors. They care about the local environment, historic landmarks and heritage, the area's economic viability and quality of life. The course is home to fish, heron and seasonal geese, to name a few. The area, first settled in the late 1800 as a ranch has hosted famous officials and Hollywood patrons of eras gone by in its restaurant and dude ranch facilities. The course also is an employer with major economic and environmental assets, supporting property values as a major green space we all enjoy. We all need to be a part of this pro-active community venture. Join by visiting www.RanchHouseCoalition.com
